It was a lot of fun preparing for the festivities of the White's Christmas party they throw each year. This year's cocktail menu was a tasty spread with something for everyone! I had fun preparing the candied cranberries for the White Christmas Cosmo !🎄🍸🍡
It's really easy to make candied cranberries. Just make simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water; bring to low boil until sugar dissolves, take off heat). Throw fresh cranberries into the pot of simple syrup (be sure to toss out any bad cranberries, and make sure the syrup is not too hot as you don't want to boil the berries). Leave the cranberries in the warm syrup for 5-10 minute to allow them to soften and absorb the sugar, then drain the syrup and toss them in sugar. Once they dry you've got a delicious treat that you can also use as a cocktail garnish!
The Grinch is another fun and simple holiday cocktail. It's basically a Midori Sour. We added a peppermint garnish to give it a touch of Christmas. It was perfect because it eventually turned the drink brown, which seemed more "Grinchy" to me. Bah Humbug! This one actually turned out to be a "Hairy Grinch" because we used vodka. Equal parts Vodka, Midori, and fresh Sour mix with a peppermint garnish = a Hairy Grinch. 🎁
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. White for throwing another awesome Christmas party! It's the season to be Jolly 🎄 Ho!Ho!Ho!Ho!Ho! 🎅
